(Virtual) Vintage Santa Clara

Save the Date: Saturday, September 11

To best support our vendors and alumni office staff, Vintage Santa Clara will be virtual once more this fall. While we anticipate being back on campus for Vintage in 2022, we are excited to honor this tradition in an engaging way for all to enjoy this year. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 11, 1:30 - 3 p.m. to celebrate the 38th Annual Vintage Santa Clara—virtual style! Tickets go on sale August 9.

Why Go Virtual Again This Year?
Each year, 50+ local businesses donate their time, staff, and product, making this long standing event possible. Since we rely so heavily on our generous vendors, we plan for Vintage many months in advance to allow them enough time to prepare supplies, secure product for thousands of attendees, arrange booth staff, and complete paperwork for the county (required for serving donated food and beverage). With the uncertainties in the food and beverage industry brought on by the pandemic, and by the time CDC and State of CA communicated the state’s reopening, the preparation window for our vendors and alumni office staff to execute an in-person Vintage had passed—leading to our decision to be virtual once more this fall.

While our alumni office staff continues to work from home after over a year of remote work, we are directing our resources toward phasing back into the workplace and preparing for a double Grand Reunion in October—with 27 reunion classes, an expected attendee list over 8,000, and special events for the Classes of 2020 and 2021. We look forward to seeing you at Virtual Vintage then in person at Grand Reunion!

A Taste of SCU History

In 1983, the Santa Clara Valley Alumni Chapter established a wine festival that has grown into a long lasting Santa Clara tradition. For the past 37 years, friends of SCU and alumni connected enterprises have donated their product and time to the event. Originally serving only wine and food, Vintage has since added breweries, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and information booths. As the annual fundraiser for the Alumni Family Scholarship Fund, Vintage Santa Clara has raised almost a million dollars for legacy students. It is a celebration which loyal attendees rarely miss—each year, looking forward to visiting the Mission Gardens for an afternoon of live music, tasty sips and bites, and camaraderie for a good cause.

Vendor participation is a great way to reconnect with the University, and an opportunity to share your tasty sips and bites with thousands of Broncos and friends of SCU. We anticipate being back on campus for the 39th Vintage Santa Clara on Saturday, September 10, 2022. We will be accepting vendor booth reservations beginning January 2022.
