Beyond the Classroom
Get involved outside of the classroom! The accounting department offers students extracurricular ways to be involved with other students, faculty, staff, and accounting professionals.
The Santa Clara University Accounting Association (SCUAA) is a student-run organization that provides undergraduate accounting majors with professional and social activities designed to stimulate and develop the skills and relationships essential to an accounting career.
This event, held at the beginning of fall quarter, unites SCU accounting students with potential employers who wish to hire them. It is considered the most important recruiting event of the year.
Many SCU accounting majors and A&IS majors participate in semester study abroad programs. Our program [ACTG] is designed to allow Accounting and A&IS majors to study abroad during the fall quarter of their junior year without falling behind in their required upper division accounting classes. We recommend that study abroad students take ACTG 130 (Intermediate Accounting I) in the winter quarter of their junior year.
