Alain Schlapfer teaches courses in micro- and macroeconomics as well as time series analysis. Trained as a macroeconomist, his recent research focuses on the evolution of cooperation among individuals, how cultural norms are formed and how they affect economic outcomes. His research has been published in the Journal of Applied Econometrics and the Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
Professor Schlapfer received his BSc from the University of Bern, Switzerland, and his MSc and PhD from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.
